Competition for UNODC Grace Essays 2024 (Win a fully funded trip to Austria)
Participated in top international essay writing competitions. We invite all global youth activists to apply for the 2024 UNODC Grace Essay Writing Competition. Twenty winners from each region will receive an invitation to a fully funded, all-expenses-paid youth anti-corruption program in Vienna, Austria. UNDOC will pay for Austrian visas, airline tickets, and accommodation in Vienna. All citizens are eligible to compete. This essay writing competition aims to encourage youth to work against corruption and exchange ideas.

Concerning the GRACE Essay Writing Competition
- Goal: Young people can express their opinions and suggestions for lessening anti-corruption through the UNODC GRACE essay writing competition. It will assist in lessening corruption.
- Topics: Integrity, ethics, and anti-corruption are the focus of the GRACE International Writing Essay Competition, which aims to develop young people’s ability to think creatively and critically while tackling anti-corruption issues.
- Impact: The essay should also discuss the ways that civil society in your nation or community works to prevent and fight corruption, as well as the effects that anti-corruption initiatives have on you, your family, and your community.
- Workshop in Vienna: Twenty articles will be selected as winning entries by UNODC. Winners will have the opportunity to meet individuals from around the world, talk about the role young people can play in preventing corruption, and voice their opinions at a youth anti-corruption workshop in Vienna.

Essay topics
The following should be expressed in the three-page English essay that applicants submit:
Contextual knowledge: Outline, in a concise and clear manner, the state of corruption in your nation and the efforts made by your government, civil society organizations, and/or individuals to address it. Do (eg, is your nation a State Party? Are there any actions being taken by UNCAC, civil society organizations and/or individuals, etc.);
First-hand experience: Give a personal account of how corruption affects you, your family, and/or your community.
Local initiative: Based on your research, describe a specific initiative or initiative taken by an individual, group, or organization in your nation to combat corruption. Bonus points will be awarded if you can link it to any of the topics mentioned in the roadmap above, especially those that deal with, for example, i. empowering victims of corruption; ii enabling youth to participate more actively in decision-making processes; iii mobilizing resources to strengthen the role of youth in anti-corruption initiatives; iv exposing corruption while investing in coalition building; and v. Supporting youth-led research, education, and innovation.
