The Reagan Facil Democracy Fellowship offers two tracks.
- Professionals
- Academics
Scholars and practitioners will collaborate on specific projects related to democracy. Projects should focus on dimensions of democratic development that are political, social, economic, legal, or cultural.
Both practitioners and scholars can apply for five-month fellowships through Reagan-Facilitate Democracy.
The Practitioners Track enables people in developing countries to build stronger plans to gain knowledge and advance democratic principles and practices. Mid-career professionals with a few years of work experience should generally apply for the practitioner track. The Practitioner track has no age limit and no specific degree requirement.
Scholars Track: Candidates must demonstrate their expertise with published work, a well-defined research proposal, and a Ph.D.

Human rights activists, civil society leaders, politicians, human rights lawyers, parliamentarians, labor union activists, journalists, and other media professionals fall into this category.

Ability
Each applicant must have:
- Able to communicate in English

- Make yourself available for a five-month fellowship period from October 1 to February 28 or March 1 to July 31.
- About the Practitioner Pathway: Mid-career practitioners should have substantial real-world experience advocating for democracy or human rights in their home country or other relevant countries.
- About the academic track: Applicants have a doctorate, a track record of publications in the subject, and a complete research plan for the fellowship project.
