Indigenous Fellowship in Switzerland, 2025 (Fully Funded)
Established in 1997, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights introduced the OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship. Applications for the 2025 OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship are now being accepted. During the four weeks of the fellowship, which will take place in June and July 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland, you will receive training and learn about the UN system and the procedures that deal with human rights issues in general and specifically with local issues. Participants with training are better able to support their communities and organizations.
The five languages offered through this training program are English, Spanish, French, Russian, and Portuguese. Previous Local Fellows already select 15-20 candidates from each language group. The fellowship includes a fully funded package that provides for living expenses, travel tickets, and necessary health insurance. Ability
Ø Native Americans are the only eligible candidates. Non-Native Americans will not be considered.
Ø Getting old is not a problem. Age restrictions do not apply.
Ø Upon their return, fellows will commit to training more members of the local community.
Ø The local community or group must nominate and support candidates. The sponsoring organization must have a large and diverse membership.
