The February 2025 intake for National Taiwan University Scholarships is now open. 50 PhD programs and 100 Masters programs will be available for admission in February 2025. Applications for the scholarship are accepted from nationals of any country. One of the top universities in Asia is National Taiwan University (NTU). Taiwan is home to the University of Taipei. To attract overseas students, NTU offers several scholarships, including fully paid university and government scholarships.

Program duration

• Master’s programs take one to four years to complete.

Scholarships at NTU for university studies

• The NTU Outstanding Overseas Graduate Student Scholarship is open to all overseas applicants seeking admission to NTU University. Scholarships include:
• Up to TWD 65,000 (USD 2,167) in tuition waivers are offered per semester.
• An allowance of TWD 8,000 (USD 267) per month for Master’s degree candidates.
• For PhD students: Students enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, Law, and Management will receive TWD 10,000+ (USD 333+).
• Students from the Colleges of Science, Engineering, Medicine, Bioresources and Agriculture, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Public Health, and Life Science are eligible to apply. TWD 15,000+ (USD 500+).

Note: Applicants need to check only the scholarship item while submitting their online admission application. No more paperwork or steps are required.

• Globally, we welcome students from other countries.
• Obtaining a bachelor’s degree is necessary for master’s programs., and for PhD programs, a master’s degree is required.
• Meet department-specific standards for language proficiency.

Exemption from submitting language proficiency certificates for programs taught in English: You can avoid taking IELTS if you meet one of the following criteria:

1) You are a native English speaker: If you are from any of the following countries, the system will automatically exempt you from submitting documents proving English proficiency.

Australia, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Canada, Dominica, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Kingdom of Eswatini, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, Nauru, New Zealand Nigeria, Philippines, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, South Sudan (Republic of), Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Uganda, United Kingdom, United Republic of Tanzania, United States of America, Vanuatu.

2) Previous degree obtained from an English-speaking country: We only require a copy of your graduation certificate if any of your previous degrees, including your high school diploma, were obtained in an English-speaking country. . No further documentation of English language proficiency will be required.

3) Your previous degree was taught exclusively in English: If any of your previous degrees, including your high school diploma, were taught exclusively in English, we only need to confirm this fact. A certificate from your previous college or high school is required. No further documentation of English language proficiency will be required.
