To help international students, KAIST is offering the “KAIST Full Scholarship”. All overseas applicants are welcome to apply for the KAIST Scholarship. International students currently enrolled at another university may also apply. International students do not need a TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) certificate at the time of application. The Global Korea Scholarship is also open for undergraduates. You can apply for the GKS-U Scholarship to get a fully funded scholarship. Scholarship Requirement for KAIST

  • Applicant must be a foreign student.
  • Admitted students can apply for KAIST scholarships from the university. Thus you will need to apply for admission to be eligible for the KAIST Scholarship. No additional application is required.
  • After their freshman year, students are required to maintain a GPA of at least 2.7 out of 4.3 at KAIST.
  • Benefits

Each student will be awarded a full scholarship by KAIST. For international undergraduate students, the KAIST Scholarship consists of:

  1. Full Tuition Fee: There is no tuition for the entire four-year program of eight semesters.
  2. Monthly living expenses: 350,000 KRW
  3. National Health Insurance

English test proficiency standards

It is recommended, but not required, that English proficiency tests (EPTs) such as TOEFL, IELTS, and others and standardized test results such as the SAT and AP be submitted.

If you don’t have test results, you can still apply. There will be no downside.

Ability

  • Candidates who are citizens of any other country.
  • The applicant’s parents are not Korean citizens; Applicants who are of Korean origin must have completed their entire elementary education,
  • Education in junior high and high school outside of Korea.
  • Foreign applicants are not allowed to apply if they are Korean citizens, even if they hold dual citizenship.
  • Pay the application fee.
