Youth Professional Program (YPP) 2025 (Fully Funded)
Applications for the ADB Young Professional Program (YPP) are now being accepted. An entry-level program, the ADB YPP is held for three years at ADB headquarters in Manila, Philippines, and in other locations where ADB operates. Professional careers in international development are offered to highly qualified applicants through the ADB Young Professionals Program. The World Bank Group Young Professionals Program and ADB’s YPP can be compared. The Young Professionals Program is the first step to joining the world’s leading organizations such as the World Bank, ADB, UN, and WTO.

Features of ADB YPP
- A fixed three-year contract.
- To gain exposure to ADB’s activities, the young professionals will first be assigned to the Operations and Support Department at the organization’s headquarters in Manila, Philippines.
- YPs will be transferred to another ADB location after 18 months.
- ADB hopes that upon graduation after three years of service, YPs will decide to continue with the company if they so desire and go on to a successful career.
- A structured talent management program will engage young professionals who will help deliver on ADB’s 2030 strategy.
Function of the Young Professional ADB
- For those who want to pursue a career in international development, this is an introductory course.
- As a YP you will support various ADB projects, such as grants, loans, technical assistance, and knowledge sharing.
Responsibilities of an Emerging Professional (YP)
Planning and strategy
- Participate in the formulation of ADB’s strategy and policies.
- Use your knowledge to assist in analysis and research, particularly the impact of ADB operations on development.
Project organizing
- Participate in the development, administration, and oversight of TA programs, loans, and grants that aren’t unduly complicated.
- Ensure that ADB policies and standards are taken into account in project design and implementation.
Knowledge sharing
- Contribute to ADB’s efforts in advocacy, knowledge sharing, and capacity building.

Eligibility Criteria
- Citizens of ADB member countries are eligible to apply for the ADB Young Professionals Program.
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: public policy, engineering, environment, law, social sciences, finance, economics, or business administration.
- Preferably, you have a postgraduate degree or equivalent.
- Three years or more of relevant professional experience. Keep in mind that internships can also qualify as work experience.
- Experience in areas related to ADB’s operations is advantageous.
- At the time of joining ADB, you should be below 32 years of age.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
