Eligibility Criteria
- Hold citizenship, reside in, and work for one of the 31 nations that qualify as ARES partners.
- Possess a degree that is equal to a Belgian bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS credits) for specialization baccalaureates, or a Belgian master’s degree (300 ECTS credits) for specialized master’s and continuing education programs.
- Have worked in a relevant professional capacity for at least two years in a nation that is an ARES partner.

- Two recommendation letters, academic or professional
- Original diplomas in certified copy form
- certified copies of each year’s original transcripts
- Proof of residency for the previous five years
- A duplicate passport or a certificate of nationality
- Pre-project (for some courses; refer to the entrance requirements for that particular course)

It costs nothing to apply for an ARES Scholarship. Applications can be submitted online through the GIRAF system. To apply, follow these steps:
- Set up a GIRAF account: If you don’t already have one, set one up and request ARES verification.
- Get the application here: To access the application, log in to your Giraffe account, select “My Jobs” > “Competitive Calls” > “Application for International Training”.
- Fill out the application completely: Complete the application. Before collecting it, you can save and return it multiple times.
- Submit your application: Select “Submit my application” after finishing it. You may not amend your application once it has been filed; However, you can view it in “My Submissions”.
